How strong is the protection?
With AES-256 and a good password, a protected PDF can't be opened without the password. Use at least 8 characters with a mix of words, numbers and symbols, and don't reuse a password from elsewhere.
Restrictions on printing, copying and editing are respected by Adobe Reader, browsers and most apps, but some software ignores them. The password to open is the real protection.
Tip: Sending the PDF by email? Share the password another way, such as a text message or a phone call.
Your files stay on your device
Most online PDF sites upload your documents to their servers. Aleynray Ai does the work inside your browser instead, on your own computer or phone.
Nothing is sent anywhere, so contracts, bank statements, IDs and medical forms stay private, and there is no waiting for uploads.

Frequently asked questions
Can I recover a forgotten password?
No. Strong encryption means there is no way back in without the password, so keep it somewhere safe.
Which PDF readers can open it?
All modern readers: Adobe Acrobat and Reader, browsers, macOS Preview and phone apps. Choose AES-128 only for very old software.
Is my password sent anywhere?
No. The PDF is encrypted in your browser and the password stays on your device.
Can I protect several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add them all; each gets the same password.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no limit on files and no watermark.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The tool runs inside your web browser and works on the file on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, so private documents stay private.
