What permissions can and can't do
Permissions are instructions stored in the PDF, protected by encryption. Adobe Reader, Chrome, Edge, Preview and most apps follow them, greying out Print or Copy.
Some software ignores them, so permissions discourage misuse rather than make it impossible. For confidential documents, add a password to open as well.
Tip: Sharing a contract for signature? Allow "comments and form filling" but block editing.
Your files stay on your device
Most online PDF sites upload your documents to their servers. Aleynray Ai does the work inside your browser instead, on your own computer or phone.
Nothing is sent anywhere, so contracts, bank statements, IDs and medical forms stay private, and there is no waiting for uploads.
- Free, with no sign-up or limits
- No watermark
- Files never leave your device
- Opens password-protected PDFs
- Works on desktop and mobile
Frequently asked questions
Can people still read the PDF?
Yes, unless you also set a password to open.
Why do I need a permissions password?
It is what lets you, and only you, change the permissions later.
Are permissions secure?
They are respected by most apps, but some ignore them. Use a password to open for real privacy.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no limit on files and no watermark.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The tool runs inside your web browser and works on the file on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, so private documents stay private.
