Why page labels matter

In a book, page 1 is often the tenth page of the PDF, after the cover and table of contents. Without labels, typing "1" into a PDF reader jumps to the cover. With labels, the reader shows and finds the same page numbers as the printed book.

Labels are stored as a setting in the PDF and shown by Acrobat, Preview, Edge, Chrome and most other readers. They are not printed on the page; to print numbers, use Add Page Numbers.

Tip: Printing numbers on the pages too? Run Add Page Numbers with the same ranges.

Your files stay on your device

Most online PDF sites upload your documents to their servers. Aleynray Ai does the work inside your browser instead, on your own computer or phone.

Nothing is sent anywhere, so contracts, bank statements, IDs and medical forms stay private, and there is no waiting for uploads.
