Why is some text missing?
The tool reads the real text stored in the PDF. Scanned pages and screenshots contain pictures of text instead, which need OCR first.
A few PDFs use fonts without proper character information, so their text comes out as odd symbols. Running them through OCR PDF usually fixes it.
