Change PDF Background Colour
Give PDF pages a coloured background: a soft cream for easier reading, a pastel for handouts, or your brand colour. The colour sits behind the content, so text and images stay on top.

Behind the content
The colour is added as a layer under everything on the page. Pages with transparent areas show the colour; text and drawings sit on top as before.
Scanned pages are usually a single full-page picture with a white background, which covers the colour. Use Adjust PDF Colours or Invert for those.
Tip: Printing? Coloured backgrounds use a lot of ink. They're best for on-screen reading.
Your files stay on your device
Most online PDF sites upload your documents to their servers. Aleynray Ai does the work inside your browser instead, on your own computer or phone.
Nothing is sent anywhere, so contracts, bank statements, IDs and medical forms stay private, and there is no waiting for uploads.
- Free, with no sign-up or limits
- No watermark
- Files never leave your device
- Opens password-protected PDFs
- Works on desktop and mobile
Frequently asked questions
Why didn't my scanned PDF change?
A scanned page is one picture that covers the whole page, so the background is hidden behind it.
Can I colour only some pages?
Yes. Type them in the Pages box.
Can I use my brand colour?
Yes. Use the colour picker.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no limit on files and no watermark.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The tool runs inside your web browser and works on the file on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, so private documents stay private.
